About YUM0#
YUM0 is a confluence of thoughts, research, field notes, essays, game journals, satire, and the occasional half-baked idea.
Things here are either born out of research, a conversation, a peculiar news headline, a walk, a particularly frustrating game playthrough, or just a question that simply will not die.
There is a certain frustration that comes with realizing there are systems around us everywhere, down to the people we interact with, that are presented as simple at first glance but reveal layers upon layers of complexity at a closer inspection.
YUM0 is the story of my attempts to capture these moments of revelation and understanding, to write about what I find interesting.
Find things relating to:
• field notes from places and people
• essays
• stories
• political rants and satire
• game journals, culture
• and much more
This is not a proper media hub. There is nothing particularly grand about it, other than being a storage for things I feel like I might want to read later, or that I think others may be interested in, too.
It’s just a chronicle. Nothing more, nothing less.
The reason I’m writing this up, apart from general self-indulgence, is to highlight that things here are not meant to be taken too seriously.
Not everything has a place here.
Not every idea is an article, not every article is an essay, and not every essay is meant to have a point.
Some things are simply worth preservation for their own sake.
The author is a student of human nature, society, systems, and their peculiar relations to one another and is very often found typing random thoughts on a keyboard, preferably while a procrastinating on actually finishing an article he wrote three years ago.
The author goes by the handle Servus Dei Custoditus online.
Nothing written here should be taken for gospel, truth, or any other faith-based substances; take everything you read here with a grain of salt or a healthy dose of skepticism, whichever you prefer.
